Home Building in Austin Texas is looking Up

Home Building and Construction in Austin Texas is looking Up

Even so, the news is cautious, as the majority of those new employers are planning to add fewer than 15 new staff members, while 13% are planning to add 25 or more. In 2013, 9% of firms surveyed are still bracing for more layoffs.

The bottom line is that while major construction jobs in public building construction and manufacturing continues to remain low, the number of projects that have been delayed or canceled due to the economy actually decreased in 2012. Private investors and first-time homebuyers taking advantage of lower property values, or who have purchased homes in the last couple of years, are now looking toward renovating, updating, and expanding square footage.

While the home construction market may not fully recover until 2015 or 2016, the year 2013 is certainly shaping up to be better than the past couple of years. That’s good news not only for homeowners, but for privately owned construction companies like Dearth Design and Construction, a privately owned Texas construction company with offices in Austin, South Austin and Bastrop.

“Dearth Design and Construction is a full-service custom home design, building and remodeling firm serving greater Austin and Texas Hill Country,” states Todd Dearth, owner of the company. “We specialize in functional design and construction management, whether you’re looking to add a room, custom design a home, or renovate.”

Homeowners in the Austin area are taking advantage of excellent financing and two decades of experience offered by Dearth Design and Construction as 2013 kicks into high gear.
